Associate/Senior Associate – Fundraiser Real Estate Credit

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate / Senior Associate to join the capital formation team to focus on raising capital from new investors and deepening and expanding existing relationships for the company’s real estate credit vertical. This person will engage with prospective investors across all client channels, building interest in the firm’s real estate credit strategy and educating them on the firm’s investment philosophy and differentiated approach.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in real assets and be capable of effectively communicating across a breadth of private market products. They will have a successful track record of prospecting and raising capital.
This person will have experience growing an investor base and be capable of setting and executing a sales strategy, with the flexibility to adjust as needed. The ability to collaborate and work seamlessly across internal and external functions to successfully close on commitments and onboard investors is critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an integral member of the Capital Formation team, spearheading investor engagement and raising capital for our client’s real estate credit business.
  • Develop and cultivate new relationships with Limited Partners (LPs), including HNWI, RIA’s, family offices and institutional investors, while deepening relationships with the firm’s existing investor base.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts in an approachable and digestible way in conversations with LPs as well as internal teams.
  • Act as a trusted resource for investors and engage in solutions-oriented conversations that help provide key insights and knowledge to contribute to ongoing product development and business innovation.
  • Represent our client as a credible and positive representative of the firm in both internal and external interactions.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for investors, addressing inquiries and concerns, and managing investor expectations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with the Investor Relations team to serve the needs of existing investors including ongoing reporting, investment updates, and ad hoc requests.
  • Track investor intelligence and activity in the CRM system and maintain accurate pipeline information.
  • Foster strong internal relationships with the rest of the Capital Formation team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and flexibility to travel, as needed, to engage with investors, attend meetings, and support business development efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
  • 5+ years of capital raising experience with expertise in representing real asset strategies, particularly real estate
    credit, is a plus.
  • Established relationships within the investor community; proven ability to establish and build long-term
    relationships and a keen understanding of the fundraising process.
  • Possess technical knowledge of real asset strategies and strong financial acumen, able to communicate complex
    themes and investments into easily understood concepts and messages.
  • Aptitude for marketing multiple investment strategies simultaneously, with a demonstrated willingness and
    capability to be versatile.
  • Ability to be effective at communicating with executive leadership and investors, with the willingness to play a
    'hands-on' role with key projects and work streams.
